Looking out toward Rocky Mountain National Park

This past Autumn my husband and I made our move to the beautiful state of Colorado.  A wonderful change and transition in our life.  We are loving the weather (Colorado winters are far milder than I ever imagined).  We are living and working in Boulder County and loving every moment of it.  I am dividing my time between my online boutique and I am also co-creating a new line of corset bridal gowns alongside the owner(Nora McCray) of Sew Fresh Studio in Niwot, Colorado (7 miles North of Boulder).  I am enjoying the new position, the new life, and new friends I am making.  Colorado has (thus far) been a wonderful change.  You may see many changes to the website over the course of this spring and summer as new designs are debuted and the portfolio for the exclusive custom line(only available locally) is added to our website.  Thank you to all my wonderful 2010 customers that are still following my transition.

I’m so tired of having food borne allergies.  I’ve been feeding the squirrels peanuts this spring but now I think I’m allergic to even peanut dust!  I’ve been to the hospital once already this spring for not being able to breathe.   Can someone please find a cure for my peanut & yeast allergies?  I want to be able to wake up without hives or swollen eyes!  When your body tries to shut down because you can’t breath it puts me out for at least a day or two-it’s the worst feeling.   Almost everything you buy at the store (unless natural) is made with peanut oil or has yeast.  I guess I’m going to have to eat only natural from now on and where gloves when I feed the squirrels! :(

Above are some photos from gowns I finished this spring for special occasions.  All clients were very happy and are local & online customers.

I thought these designs turned out beautiful and I love the photo of the gorgeous client modeling her new gown!

This month is sooo short and I’m exhausted.  Had a fun weekend with friends despite my busy schedule.  Although, my wrists are aching and I have tons of deadlines at least I had very happy clients over the weekend!  I woke up this morning checking my schedule and realized I have a photo shoot coming up for the new designs to be unveiled in March-fun!  In between constructing prom gowns, custom corsets, making new designs, meeting appointments, ordering inventory…it doesn’t end…I need a personal assistant!  At least I’m having fun :) .  I finished and shipped out an ivory bridal gown version of the Rachael Gown this past weekend and it turned out gorgeous with very happy reviews from the client.

Can’t wait for everyone to see the new designs for March!

In the middle of a crazy week (last week & with putting on my own little runway show) I was so saddened this morning when I read an online news article about one of my favorite designers….Alexander McQueen seems to have taken his own life Feb. 11th, 2010.  McQueen was definately an influence of my work and one of my favorite designers.  I’m so sad to see this designer gone when he had so much more to give.  I sure will miss seeing the new collections from you Alexander…even in the most unlikely of places you managed to inspire a small time designer.

So I just finished up a great Women’s Fair in Wichita and met some wonderful people!  My runway shows were a blast for the new looks this spring.  Working with all the great models from Models & Images and meeting their parents was fun.  Stay tuned because the video of the new looks will be up in a few days.  Looking forward to working on all the beautiful new prom gowns that will be worn this spring around the area!  Definately a fun weekend.

So I have to wear something new to the Masquerade Ball in November and I’m thinking  something inspired with saree fabric/designs from the movie Moulin Rouge.  I’m thinking a skirt, jacket, and corset (of course).
